'Rawla', as the word suggests it, is the traditional ladies quarter of an aristocratic Rajput home. Built in the early 1950's, it is the residence of the Rawatsar Thikana which was the estate of the erstwhile Bikaner state and traces its history to the 16th century. The chief of Rawatsar was one of the four premier nobles of the State.
The residence built by Padmashree Rani Lakshmi Kumari Chundawat is one of the most honored personalities of Rajasthan, a person who stood by her virtues and abandoned the Purdah in the feudal era. She has served three times in the State Assembly and once in the National Parliament. She was known for her love for Literature and History, she was a very well read, well versed and a widely travelled person, as well as an author and a gifted storyteller.
There is an air of serenity about 'Rawla' because it's a 'home'. And what it offers is a 'homestay', the way they're meant to be, between serenity and authenticity.
Rawla offers a quiet, relaxed, comfortable stay to all and a safe environment to the lone lady traveler. At hand to welcome you, and look after you, is Sanyogita Rawat, granddaughter of Rani Laxmi Kumari Chundawat. Sanyogita will be delighted to show you the hidden places of Jaipur and bring the charm and magic of Rajasthan to your stay.
